The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship – 2025 Jeddah E-Prix, delivered by STAMiNA under the direction of Formula E and the Ministry of Sports, marked a groundbreaking moment for Saudi Arabia’s motorsport landscape. Hosted for the first time at the iconic Jeddah Corniche Circuit on February 14–15, 2025, the event symbolized a new era for electric motorsport in the Kingdom, transitioning from the Diriyah venue after six successful years. This transition required reimagining and transforming the Jeddah circuit into a fully operational Formula E venue that met world-class sporting, operational, and sustainability standards.
The event stood out globally not only for its competitive edge but also for its embrace of sustainability, innovation, and talent development. The 2025 edition introduced two significant milestones in Formula E history: the debut of the PIT BOOST system, a mandatory 30-second pit stop allowing for a 10% battery recharge at an ultra-fast 600kW, and Formula E’s first-ever Rookie Free Practice Session, offering emerging talents like Daniil Kvyat and Jamie Chadwickin valuable track time in the cutting-edge GEN3 Evo cars. These innovations reinforced the event’s commitment to the future of sustainable motorsport and talent nurturing.
As the appointed event delivery partner, STAMiNA played a critical role in transforming the urban waterfront into a temporary, high-performance racetrack. Our scope spanned from site operations, logistics, and venue overlay to fan engagement, hospitality, and the seamless integration of technology and brand experiences. This event was not just about racing—it was an immersive celebration of technology, sustainability, entertainment, and Saudi Arabia’s growing status as a major player in global motorsport.
The event drew 11 teams and 22 drivers, with thrilling night races that made history. The second race saw a record-breaking all-British top four finish, with Oliver Rowland clinching victory, followed closely by rookie Taylor Barnard, Jake Hughes, and Jake Dennis, highlighting one of the most competitive moments in the history of Formula E. The grandstands were filled with passionate fans, while the global broadcast reached millions through 34 international channels and over 200 media representatives from around the world.
Delivering this complex event came with significant challenges. One of the most critical was adapting the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, a venue designed for multiple events, not exclusively motorsport. Unlike Diriyah where the entire venue was purpose-built, Jeddah required creative use of permanent structures combined with temporary overlays. STAMiNA responded with a smart infrastructure strategy, maximizing existing assets, reducing dependence on temporary builds, and compressing the setup timeline without compromising on quality or safety.
The event’s sustainability commitments posed both an opportunity and a challenge. Formula E’s rigorous sustainability requirements meant that every operational decision had to prioritize low environmental impact. STAMiNA worked with local suppliers to minimize transport emissions, implemented zero single-use plastic policies, and designed a waste management system that maximized recycling rates. Furthermore, all plants and landscaping elements used during the event were later donated to public spaces and local schools, contributing to the city’s long-term beautification.
Stakeholder alignment was another crucial component. With multiple entities involved, Formula E, the Ministry of Sports, Sela, SMC, CBX, MDLBEAST, and the Jeddah venue team, ensuring smooth coordination was vital. STAMiNA established a robust project management framework with regular alignment meetings, clear decision-making channels, and specialized teams dedicated to key operational streams. This ensured that despite differing priorities, all stakeholders moved cohesively toward a common goal.
The event’s success was measured through clear metrics. Operationally, it maintained exceptional health and safety standards, with over 1,500 crew inducted, 56 machines inspected, and zero major incidents. On the fan engagement side, the Fan Village welcomed over 26,500 visitors across two days, offering interactive experiences, racing simulators, activations, and headline concerts by Akon and Lil Baby. VIP experiences at the Emotion Club, featuring hospitality from brands like ROKA, Mr. Chow, Jon & Vinny’s, and Il Baretto, sold out completely, hosting 1,750 high-profile guests and dignitaries, delivering a flawless luxury guest experience.
